TAMCC will like to inform the public that Staff Convocation 2016 will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 under the theme "One College, One Community, One Mission; aspiring to obtain meaningful results through engagement, commitment, responsibility, and accountability".

The event will be held at the Teacher Education Department commencing at 9:00 a.m.

Urgent Notice Re. Registration & School Start Date

Urgent Notice

TAMCC will like to urgently inform the public following our Press Release yesterday, that Orientation has been postponed until further notice. Therefore, new students who have already registered are not expected at the College today.

In addition, classes will start on Tuesday August 30, 2016 and not Monday August 29, 2016.


Faculty Positions Vacancies

The T. A. Marryshow Community College invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill Faculty positions specializing in the following areas: 

  • Culinary Arts (St. Patrick’s Campus);
  • Social Studies with Education (candidates must have a Degree majoring in Social Studies);

The successful candidate will be required to inter alia:  

  1. 1.Give instruction in the courses assigned;
  2. 2.Plan, develop and maintain the currency of the curricula of the College;
  3. 3.Evaluate student performance and assign grades for each student in their courses;
  4. 4.Recommend students for academic awards, degrees and certificates;
  5. 5.Guide and counsel students in planning their academic programmes and in the selection of their courses; and
  6. 6.To undertake related duties assigned from time to time.

 

Potential candidates should posses at least a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional or technical certification in the relevant area.  Further to this, experience in teaching at the tertiary level will be an asset.

 

Applications are also invited to fill the position of Campus Nurse at the Tanteen Campus on a contractual basis. 

Applicants should be a Registered nurse trained in community nursing.  The successful candidate will be required to provide first response to emergencies and to assist in the management of non-communicable conditions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Job Title: Records Management Assistant

 

Department: Records Office

 

Grade: HC

 

Supervisor: The holder of this post is directly responsible to the Assistant Registrar for Records through him/her the Registrar.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. 1.To prepare statistical reports for the Records Office related but not limited to monitoring the trends of students’ enrollment, attrition, and graduation;
  2. 2.To assist with investigating and resolving requests made for transfer of credits, transfer of programme and reapplication to the College.
  3. 3.To assist with pre-graduation audit of students’ records and to provide information on students’ deficiencies;
  4. 4.To assist with the preparation and the verification of accuracy of transcripts;
  5. 5.To assist with assessing routine student queries and complaints;
  6. 6.To assist with the supervision of the timely distribution of students’ progress reports at the end of each semester;
  7. 7.To transfer grades from students record cards and official gradeto the student records system;
  8. 8.To enter data and to file students registration and add/drop forms;
  9. 9.

  11. 11.To undertake any other related duty assigned from time to time

 

Qualifications

At least a Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Certificate, or at least 5 years of working experience in the related field

 

Experience and Abilities:

  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele and/or media sources.
  • Knowledge of records archiving and/or retrieval.
  • Database management skills.
  • Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw to conclusions.
  • Ability to evaluate and edit the content, structure, and format of a range of written material.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and community relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of student admissions, registration, and academic requirements.
  • Knowledge of records retention and/or destruction policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty in area of academic requirements.
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations regarding student records.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skills in accessing internet information services.
