The T. A. Marryshow Community College received a generous donation of books and electronics from Dr. Brittany Singleton, a Fulbright scholar currently based at the College. Dr. Singleton holds the rank of Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy in the Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at the Xavier University of Louisiana and is currently in Grenada to lend her expertise to the College’s Pharmacy programme as a lecturer.
The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational program. Fulbright awardees engage in cutting-edge research and expand their professional networks, often continuing research collaborations started abroad and laying the groundwork for forging future partnerships between institutions.
“I wanted to create a bridge and new opportunities for students within both of our Pharmacy programmes – create opportunities for faculty exchange, research collaborations and student exchange.” said Dr. Singleton.
In addition to collaborating with faculty and students at the college, Dr. Singleton plans to provide continuing education to local pharmacists while learning about healthcare challenges in the Caribbean. She aims to establish a lasting partnership between the Xavier COP and the T.A. Marryshow College pharmacy programme to positively impact patient outcomes throughout the African Diaspora.
The donation from Dr. Singleton comes at a crucial time for the Pharmacy Programme, as the programme undergoes a curriculum review which she is assisting with to improve the quality of the programme and ensure it meets its learning goals.
TAMCC extends thanks to Dr. Singleton for her donation and valuable contribution to the College’s Pharmacy programme. The college looks forward to utilizing this donation to further its mission of preparing the next generation of pharmacists and pharmaceutical researchers.
